Winkler rotary newspaper press free to a good home

A once-in-a-generation opportunity (for anyone with the means to take advantage of it…)

We have been contacted by a correspondent with an offer of a large-format Winkler rotary newspaper press.

It was originally imported into Iran and run by our correspondent’s grandfather and may well be of particular historical interest because it has a story attached to it: it was used to print one of the country’s earliest news papers (as opposed political or opinion papers). The company that once ran it has since abandoned newspaper printing and moved into plastics, but the machine still sits proudly in a corner (a very large corner) of its factory.

Is there anyone or any organisation out there with an idea how save what is probably one of the last large rotary newspaper presses to come on the market?

The current owner of the press would be very happy to give a virtual tour on FaceTime to anyone who might be interested in this exceptional piece of printing heritage.

The press is located in Iran.
