Dear Colleagues,
I would like to introduce myself to you all and say that I am delighted to be able to take on the role as chair of the AEPM. I have had a long association with the AEPM. I first attended in Gravenmacher in 2003 and have sat on the board since 2005. I am keen that the culture of co-operation that has been steadily growing over the years of the AEPM is maintained and that we continue to be a truly European Forum. The history of print and its heritage in its widest context is a subject to which I am deeply committed. Therefore, I really look forward to working with you over the next two years.
For those of you who do not know my background – I am the Bristol Hewlett Packard Professor of Fine Print and Director of the Centre for Fine Print Research at the University of the West of England Bristol UK. Apart from being a practicing artist I have written two books and presented the results of my research at many symposia and conferences. I also have a background in the print industry and my initial commercial training was as a screenprinter, over the years I have undertaken many consultancy roles for the industry. I am the Chair of the IMPACT International conference for Printmaking, on the editorial board of the journal Printmaking Today, and a past Vice-President of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers. A full CV can be found on the CFPR website.
Please do not hesitate to contact me, or my administrative assistant Jesse. Who I would also like to introduce to you, he will be taking on the role of supporting the AEPM and making sure that I respond to all your emails and requests.
Yours sincerely,
Steve Hoskins
