Applications are open for the twelfth session of the Institut d’histoire du livre’s Book history workshop. Three courses are available:

François Vinourd
Techniques et matériaux des reliures médiévales (in French) : new!

Claudio Galleri avec Eléonore Litim
Image vagabonde : chemins et techniques de l’estampe européenne du XVe au XVIII siècle (in French) : new!

The courses will be held at Enssib (Ecole nationale supérieurs des sciences de l’information et des bibliothèques) with practical sessions at the City library, the Museum of printing and graphic communication and the Rhône departmental archives.

Emphasis is given to the analysis of original documents.

The courses are open to a wide range of specialists in the history of books, printing and graphic communication: researchers, teachers, museum and library curators, librarians, graphic designers… Each course lasts four days and is lead by an internationally renowned specialist in the field.

In order to facilitate direct access to original documents each class is limited to twelve participants.

Registration fee (per 4 day course)

Full rate: 500 euros
Student rate: 300 euros

The registration fee includes teaching materials, welcome cocktail and breaks. Accommodation and mid-day meals are at the expense of the participants.
