Het Persmuseum (the Netherlands Press Museum) is no more

On 3 May 2017, the Press Museum (Het Persmuseum, Amsterdam) merged with the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. The building of the Persmuseum in Amsterdam closed its doors to the public on 19 June 2017.

Sound and Vision, located in Hilversum, programs a wide range of exhibitions, events and educational activities on the media, journalism and society from a media-historical perspective.

The aims of the Press Museum are being pursued in the new single organization that will provide an integrated overview of the history and current state of the media, the press and journalism. The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision (IISH) will continue to manage and develop press and media collections in the Netherlands.
