3rd edition – call for entries

The not-for-profit association « Espace René Carcan » as organizer of the René Carcan international prize for printmaking, has launched its 3rd call for entries, open to printmakers and students of printmaking, of any nationality and with no age limit.
Established in 2014 to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of the Belgian watercolour artist and engraver René Carcan (1925-1993), the Prize grants the artist’s wish to promote engraving and prints. More than 117 participants from 18 countries have contributed to the success of the last edition of this biennal award.
Registrations have been opened, and applications should be submitted via the website award.renecarcan.be by 15 September 2017 at the latest. The works will be judged by an international jury composed of personalities from the field of art. The prizes will be awarded in February 2018.

Several prizes will be awarded:

  • the René Carcan International Grand Prix, with prize-money of €5,000
  • a First mention, with prize-money of €3,000
  • a Second mention, with prize money of €2,000
  • and the René Carcan Public Prize, an honorific prize voted by Internet users.
