Descobrint treasures, manuscripts and incunabula

Exhibition organized by the Service of Libraries and Documentation and the Vice-rectorate of Culture and Equality of the University of Valencia.

This exhibition is of major importance, given the uniqueness of the exhibited works. All of them are original works, from the Historical Library, of incalculable historical and cultural value, authentic treasures.

From February 13 to April 15, in the Duke of Calabria room of the cultural center of the Nation, you can find a selection of 26 original works that are part of the historical heritage of the University.

Of the 26 documents shown, 18 are manuscripts, ranging from the 12th to the 15th century. The remaining eight works are incunabula, that is, printed books before 1501.

The exhibition is complemented by the installation of the Gutenberg printing house, property of the Association of the Senate of the Printing of Valencia that kindly gave it to illustrate the way in which the first printed books are produced. With this initiative, and within the framework of the year that is celebrated in the world, with the investment of the budget with the invention reached for a specific mission for the development of humanity.

During the exhibition, a master printer can access the public in its operation, printing the frontispiece or first page of the Tirant lo Blanc. The demonstrations took place on Tuesday afternoons, from 5 pm to 8 pm, and on Friday mornings, from 11 am to 2 pm.
